I wasn’t planning on writing about cheese this week, but I’ve made an recent important discovery. This year I tried to cut back on the amount of cheese I use in my diet, forgoing it for a week or two at a time.
And I love cheese. It’s my favorite fruit. I’ll add it to anything.
But there’s a health benefit to cheese—vitamin B12.
You see, I don’t eat a lot of meat (except for chicken and turkey which are low on the vitamin), eggs, or fish, so by me choosing not to eat cheese for a couple weeks, I’m thinking I had a vitamin B12 deficiency.
I was super tired; I mean to the point of sleeping 9-10 hours a day for a week. Whereas, I normally sleep 6-7.5 hours.
I had a major bout of depression, so I didn’t want to interact with anyone or do anything.
Dizzy…
My vision started to go blurry…
and then a crazy, scary symptom: my fingers were starting to tingle, ever so slightly.
About all I could do was pray and lay around when not forcing myself to go to work.
I happened to read an article—and I believe it’s an answer to prayer and divine intervention because it was so unexpected—on the symptoms of a lack of vitamin B12. They labeled all my symptoms.
So I took a vitamin B12 pill, and now I’m all good.
Boom.
But I’ll be much more careful when cutting back on a certain food item.
Oh, and there’s good news about cheese. According to time.com: “No, Cheese Is Not Really ‘Like Cocaine’.”
So it really is a fruit? 👍
Both funny and serious. Thanks.
